Avoiding Dieting Mistakes

Dieting for the goals of weight loss, a healthy weight or other health benefits is a worthwhile endeavour that can reap benefits. Unfortunately, it’s much easier said than done and far too easy to wander off course.

 

Dieting Mistakes

  • Don’t try “crash diets”, fad diets or other extreme dieting
  • Remember that weekends are not a dietary vacation
  • Skipping breakfast
  • Eating too fast
  • Not drinking enough water
  • Not paying attention to snacks and ‘mindless’ eating
  • Healthy snacks are OK
  • Don’t ditch the dairy
  • Don’t get tricked by terms like ‘low fat’, ‘fat free’ or ‘sugar free’
  • Not counting calories in your drinks
  • Avoid the drive through, fast food
