Pasta With Garlic Shrimp

It is quite easy to take a pasta dish from ordinary to amazing. In this recipe pasta is tossed with garlic shrimp and broccoli in a delicious creamy sauce that’s easy to make. Pasta With Garlic Shrimp & Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 5/8 (12 ounce) package angel hair pasta
  • 1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon pesto
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1-1/4 teaspoons salt, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 5/8 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 5/8 dash hot sauce
  • 3/8 (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli florets, thawed
  • 11 ounces jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  2. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  3. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Slowly stir in milk and cream; simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  6. Mix in pesto, parsley, 2 cloves minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon salt, white pepper, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce.
  7. Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer.
  8. Meanwhile, place broccoli in a steamer over 1 inch of boiling water, and cover.
  9. Cook until tender but still firm, about 2 to 6 minutes. Drain.
  10. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large pan.
  11. Saute shrimp, remaining 3 cloves minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon
    salt for 5 minutes, or until shrimp are pink.
  12. In a large bowl, toss pasta, shrimp and broccoli; pour sauce over and serve.
