Oat & Chicken Burgers

Oat & Chicken Burgers


Ingredients

  • 1lb ground chicken breast
  • Half a cup of plain yogurt
  • 1cup of uncooked whole grain oats
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • Quarter of a cup of finely chopped onion
  • Quarter of a cup of barbecue sauce
  • Quarter of a teaspoon of ground pepper.
  • 4 Whole grain buns

 

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine one pound of ground chicken breast, half a cup of plain yogurt, one cup of uncooked whole grain oats, one minced garlic clove, a quarter of a cup of finely chopped onion, one quarter of a cup of barbecue sauce, and a quarter of a teaspoon of ground pepper.
  2. Mix well and shape into four patties and grill them for about three or four minutes each side.

Tip

For a great low fat topping for your burgers, combine one third of a cup of salsa, half a cup of plain yoghurt, one teaspoon of dijon mustard, a quarter of a cup of shredded carrots, and a quarter cup of shredded spinach leaves. Mix together well and spread evenly over the completed burgers.
