Low Fat Spaghetti Bolognese
Sometimes nothing will satisfy your hunger better than a comforting plate of pasta and today we have a simple, yet low fat version of everyones favourite recipe. At 123 calories per serving, you can enjoy a nice Spaghetti Bolognese and still keep to your diet.
Low Fat Spaghetti Bolognese
Ingredients
- 200g uncooked wholemeal Spaghetti
- 250g less than 5% fat lean mince beef
- 1 tin of chopped tomatoes
- 2 onions, finely diced
- 200g small mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tbsp of tomato puree
- 1 carrot
- 1 tsp of black pepper
- 1 tsp of parsley
- 1 tbsp of Worcester sauce
Method
- Place large saucepan over medium heat, add oil, add the mince and onion, cook for 10 minutes, or until meat is well browned.
- Add the grated carrot to the pan.
- Put this mixture into a heated wok
- Add the can of chopped tomatoes, Worcester sauce and tomato puree to the wok and stir well until combined.
- Add 150ml water and simmer for 10 – 12 minutes.
- Add the garlic and mushrooms to a pan and cook for about 7 minutes.
- Boil the spaghetti for 12 – 15 minutes or until cooked to taste.
- Add the mushrooms and garlic to the mince.
- Drain the spaghetti
- Serve immediately.
