Low Calorie Bruschetta

Classic Italian flavours, simple preparation – Bruschetta is an Italian classic, full of tomato and basil goodness, and is the perfect appetizer or light meal.

 

Ingredientstomatoes

  • 1 kg of tomatoes (vine tomatoes)
  • 3 onions
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Olive oil
  • 1 bunch of basil
  • 1 ciabatta

Method

  1. Dice the tomatoes.
  2. Chop the onions finely (or coarsely, it depends on your taste) and add to the bowl with the tomatoes.
  3. Peel and press the garlic (only three cloves) and drop in the bowl.
  4. Season with salt (preferably ground sea salt) and pepper.
  5. Leave to stand a few moments and then add olive oil.
  6. Sprinkle the bread with a few drops of olive oil, rub with the remaining garlic clove and slide it into the oven (only bread) at about 200 ° C.
  7. Remove from the oven once crispy (this takes about 8 min.).
  8. Finely chop the basil and place in bowl with the tomatoes, garlic and onion to season.
  9. To serve you could also try adding mozzarella or Parmesan cheese.

Serves 6 – Calories per serving: about 120 kcal.
