Combining certain colours can make you look taller and slimmer. For example, try monochromatic dressing, which is dressing in similar shades of one colour from head to toe. It may sound a bit dull, but it’s all in the way you combine the colours and textures that makes the difference.

  1. Work out what the smallest part of your body is and emphasise that.
  2. Colour blocking can take inches off your hips and waist.
  3. Shape wear smoothes out all the lumps and bumps.
  4. A fake tan can make you look healthier, younger, more toned and can cover any blemishes.
  5. Small-scale prints are good if you are larger as your eye doesn’t zero in on any problem areas making you look much slimmer.
  6. If you can find a pair of high heels that you can work with it’s well worth the effort as they can make you look taller, slimmer, sexier and can make your legs look longer. If you choose shoes the same colour as your skin this can also make your legs look longer.
  7. If you use jewellery strategically you can use trick the eye. For example if you wear a cuff or bangle, it can highlight your tiny little wrist and take the attention away from bat wing arms.
  8. Look for v-neck and scoop neck, to make your upper body look longer, leaner and to elongate your neck. Its minimizing for a big bust as well.
  9. No matter what age you are, with the right jeans you will look slimmer and more sophisticated.
  10. Wear one colour from head to toe – Make sure that your shoes are also the same colour with a closed toe. This will give you a long line and make you look even slimmer.
